Aaron Mooy was stretchered from the field with a knee injury in Huddersfield Town's 4-1 victory over Bournemouth.
Mooy suffered a deep cut to his left knee after a collision with Bournemouth's Lewis Cook.
The Australian was taken from the field in the 76th minute on a stretcher with his knee strapped
Mooy had been impressive for the Terriers, setting up both of Steve Mounie's goals. It was an important win for the relegation-threatened club and ended a five-game losing streak.
But it could come at a heavy cost with the Socceroo midfielder set to be sidelined.
It is understood Mooy has not suffered ligament damage, with reports he walked freely from the John Smith's Stadium after the game.
“We have to wait. He got a cut over his knee - he got some stitches as well," Hudderfield manager David Wagner said.
“We have to see what he looks like in the upcoming days - how long he will be sidelined. At the minute I can not answer this question seriously.”
