Australian defender Gaincarlo Gallifuoco says his goal is to get his new club Dover Athletic FC promoted into League Two next year.
Gallifuco told FourFourTwo the appeal of joining Dover was the ambition of manager Chris Kinnear.
The Whites finished sixth, reaching the playoffs, in the National League last season.
"When he spoke to me I was so excited and motivated by his plans and vision for the future of the club and me personally, and that had me sold. My hopes for this season are to have another good year and continue my growth as a player.
Gallifuoco, a former Joey, Young Socceroo and Olyroo, made 35 appearances for Torquay last season and helped them avoid the drop.
The defender went through the AIS program and moved to the UK in 2012 to join Tottenham's academy.
Gallifuoco left Spurs in 2014 and had a season with Swansea City's youth side before a brief spell in the A-League with Victory.
