SOCCEROO Alex Brosque was sent off for the second time in a month as Shimizu S-Pulse slipped down to third in the table after a 1-0 loss to Urawa Reds in the J.League on Saturday.
Brosque, who has scored five goals in all competitions this term, had been booked on 20 minutes before Yuki Abe put Urawa ahead late in the first-half.
Shimizu's hopes of pulling a goal back were severely dented when Brosque dived in for a poor tackle in midfield on 54 minutes, which earned him his second booking and marching orders.
Brosque's decision to go in for the tackle was a poor one, considering he was on a yellow card.
Meanwhile for Urawa, Matt Spiranovic wasn't in the squad despite playing a full game in the cup in midweek.
Elsewhere, Jade North had a nightmare full shift in defence, conceding a penalty as bottom club Consadole Sapporo were thrashed 7-0 by 13th-placed Kashima Antlers.
North failed to attack a cross, allowing Daiki Iwamasa to nip in and head home the opener on nine minutes before hauling down Yuya Osako for a 15th-minute spotkick.
Osako had slipped past the Socceroo into the box on the right side of the area, only for North to grab him and bring him down, conceding a penalty and earning a yellow card.
Joshua Kennedy played in a full game, despite missing out in the ACL in midweek due to a back problem, as Nagoya Grampus were hammered 4-0 by leaders Vegalta Sendai.
